  • Boomer v NIPSA and others [2013] NIFET 57/11 FET

    Employment Tribunal NI

    Fair Employment Tribunal

The Fair Employment Tribunal has awarded £4500 costs against a NIPSA full-time official following his misconceived claims of political discrimination against the union and other officials. The tribunal found Mr Boomer at fault for much of the length of the hearing and felt he conducted himself unreasonably. He had also been warned that the respondents would seek costs.

The decision can be found on the tribunal’s website under and will be of interest to anyone looking for an explanation of the regime in relation to the awarding of costs at tribunal in Northern Ireland. Search for ‘Boomer’ under claimant or ‘Campfield’ under respondent.
